Each playing event will finish with a drink in the bar/nearby pub (location and plan determined by the Food & Drink Officer), prizes being given out and fines issued. Anyone missing from this will be fined and carry their fine over to the next event. This will only take place if there is no opportunity for a 'golf court' that evening. Handicaps are final and decided/amended by the Handicaps and Groupings Officer only. They may be challenged if desired but the Handicaps and Groupings Officer reserve the right to refer any challenges viewed as unreasonable to the fines officer. The Fines officer's decisions are final. Refusal to accept fines will result in reasonable sanctions to be decided by the fines officer. New members are welcome even if they have no previous affiliation to BUAFC providing they: 1) Have no previous affiliation to any other Brunel University sports or dance clubs (playing or social) 2) Accept and complete the BUAFC GS initiation - overseen by the committee Failure to pass the women's tees with your tee shot on any hole will result in a forfeit to be decided by other members of your match group and the fines officer notified. Anyone found to be playing their round with a golf ball in their pocket will automatically receive a 2 shot penalty for that hole. As of April 1st 2015, any member of the society who is not in possession of proper golf shoes shall not be eligible to earn championship points and will also be subject to a further fine. Scorecard’s must be signed by both the marker, and the individual being marked Upon signature’s, both players have given their pledge that all scores are valid and correct to Official Rules. Failure to sign your card can result in disqualification and in signing cards you are committing to your scores. Should disputes occur, the matter shall be raised to the Match Referee immediately upon completion of the round. It is encouraged that groupings take responsibility for their fellow golfers to abide by official rules. Newcomers to the society should always read the constitution and existing members should assist newcomers as they familiarise themselves with the common practices of the society.
