I really am struggling to find the words to describe the feeling of winning my 2nd Race to Holly Fry title.
People said “it couldn’t be done”. People said “you can’t lead from start to finish all season”. People said “you can’t be a Chairman that’s ‘for the people’ and still compete at the highest level”. So to have found a way to dig deep fills me with great satisfaction.
I’d like to take this opportunity to also dismiss the myth that some people are throwing at me. The rumours that I spent the Saturday of the Season Finale in the jacuzzi and spa facilities of The Oxfordshire, choosing to ‘make it interesting’ by not playing are completely untrue.
The season has been filled with highlights for me both on a personal and collective level. Winning the Easter PGA for the first time at a very enjoyable Chiltern Valley was obviously one along with the Matchplay run and my inaugural Par 3 victory at Royal Paultons.
Foxy’s Forrest Gump impression at the 8th at Chiltern Valley, the Champions Dinner and #Windscreengate at Sand Martins are further memorable moments.
Reminiscing about all of this, makes me value the great impact BUAFC Golf Society has on so many people’s lives and I’m already looking forward to defending my title and many more memorable moments in 2019.
See you all soon.

2 time R2HF Champion
