Buckinghamshire venue set to make its debut on Race to Holly Fry rota
BUAFCGS are pleased to announce The Lambourne Club as the venue for this year’s Easter PGA. Taking place Sunday 14th of April, the event will be directed by reigning TD of the Year and Society Gross Record holder, Tim ‘Snake’ Kilpatrick.
The Lambourne is an exclusive members Golf Club set in 180 acres of breathtakingly tranquil parkland in Burnham, Buckinghamshire close to the M4, M40 & M25 and just 30 miles from central London. The championship length 18 hole, 6798 yard par-72 course was designed by world renowned architect Donald Steel and opened in 1992 providing a golfing challenge for players of all abilities.
It is the first time The Lambourne has hosted a BUAFCGS event and Kilpatrick is enthusiastic about the course’s potential, explaining “The Lambourne has something for everyone. Excellent course conditions, long par 5s and tricky par 3s along with fantastic clubhouse (take note of the steam room) and practice facilities.”
Liam Hope, BUAFCGS Chairman, said “I’m excited for the start of the 2019 season and very pleased for it to commence under the directorship of Snake, 2018 TD of the Year. I encourage a strong attendance and look forward to welcoming all members.”
In addition to the new season, the event will also mark the start of Daniel Fox’s role as Club Captain, to which Hope added “Fox has big shoes to fill, but I’m extremely positive about his credentials. It’s an honour for BUAFCGS to have an AimPoint accredited Club Captain and I’ve no doubt he will represent us well. I’d like to wish him luck on the Captain’s Drive In – the previous two years have seen excellent fairway drives from myself and Captain Ewang and I very much hope he can continue this tradition (despite his renowned struggles from the tee).”
Daniel Fox, 2019 BUAFCGS Captain, commented “The Lambourne is a fitting venue to begin my captaincy. Having played the course before, I know how it suits my bombing style so I’m looking forward to bringing the guns out in April.
Further details on the Easter PGA will be announced in due course.
