A Captains Welcome

Welcome to the 2020 BUAFCGS Season and I must say, what a true Honour it is to have been asked to take on the role of Club Captain for this coming season. Great thanks must go to our previous Captain- Daniel Fox, AKA ‘The Fox Dog’, ‘The Horsham Bomber’ ‘Aim point Baby’ and a season ticket holder of the worst train in history.

What a grand job he did, bringing his unique humour to society days, along with some fantastic prizes, which ‘The Snake’ generally won because the ball was ‘definitely’ on the fairway!

I feel my selection for this role would not have been possible without being a member of ‘The Stable’, Coach Tom, the former Club Pro, has moved my game on no end, not only technically but my attitude and etiquette to the great game we call ‘Golf’. You will all be pleased to know I have arranged to pay some of this ‘golfing debt’ back, by arranging some parking lessons for ‘Thomas’ pre society events.

The Chairman- Mr Liam Hope continues to do a fantastic job at the head of this great group, however I would urge us all not to take for granted the time and energy he puts in to the Society. If we can all engage and assist wherever possible, this would be of great help to the continued success of the Society.

I want to wish you all a great season ahead, one with limited controversy, great laughs, good etiquette, good pace of play (lol) and breakfasts which include beans. I wonder who can break the Captains Winning streak as we enter the 2020 season.
